The Swedish giant Scania will exhibit at Bauma 2025 with an expanded portfolio of sustainable solutions for the construction and mining industries. The company is showcasing new battery-electric, hybrid, and biogas-powered vehicles alongside their established fuel-efficient industrial engines, heavy-duty trucks, and integrated digital services.
Scania arrives at Bauma 2025 with its most comprehensive offering to date, combining power, efficiency, and sustainability to meet the challenges of the construction and mining industries. Visitors to Scania’s booth will gain insight into solutions that drive the sustainability transition without compromising on power and efficiency.
Among the highlights is the Scania BEV XT Tipper with tandem bogie, a battery-electric tipper truck developed in response to the construction industry’s emission challenges. It is built to combine maximum traction with high performance and sustainability.
“Scania can now offer the tools needed to solve material transport without emissions,” says Stefano Fedel, Head of Sales and Marketing at Scania. “More and more infrastructure and construction project procurements require, or offer incentives for, zero-emission vehicles. Today, many European cities already have zero-emission zones, and the number is growing.”
At Bauma, Scania is introducing a new electric motor and battery pack. This in-house developed system combines a central control unit, inverter, and batteries with a combustion engine for parallel hybrid operation. The low noise level during electric operation makes the system suitable for urban environments and provides operators with a better working environment, while hybrid mode enables extra power and range when needed.
Scania’s electric and hybrid power generation systems play an important role in the construction and mining industries’ transition to more sustainable operations.
The company is also showcasing reliable and fuel-efficient power generation systems for demanding environments, a CBG tipper truck powered by compressed biogas with longer range and lower CO₂ emissions, and a heavy-duty 8×4/4 trailer setup with the legendary V8 engine, which can run on HVO.
“Scania is driving the sustainability transition with powerful, efficient, and low-carbon solutions. They are designed to handle the most demanding construction and mining assignments, both now and in the future,” says Stefano Fedel.
“We understand our customers’ needs for flexibility and customized solutions depending on the type of application. Whether it’s combustion engines, biogas, or battery-electric technology, they shouldn’t have to compromise on robustness, availability, or total operational efficiency.”
“As the industry segment goes through a period of rapid transitions, Scania is there to support customers with the right tools to meet the challenges and succeed.”
