Construction worker dead in historic tower collapse

A 66-year-old construction worker has died following the partial collapse of Torre dei Conti in Rome during renovation work.
A construction worker, a 66-year-old man, has died after parts of Torre dei Conti collapsed in Rome.
The collapse occurred during ongoing renovation work.
Five people were rescued early from the rubble, but the 66-year-old man remained trapped and was excavated only eleven hours later, and his life could not be saved.
The accident is being investigated as causing injury through negligence.
