OBOS has acquired a 12,000 square meter site from Diakonhjemmet to build housing. The sale of Plot A in the Diakonhjemmet Garden will contribute to financing further development within healthcare, elderly care and education over the coming years.
Interest in the unique site has been high since the prospectus was presented to the market in April. Around 40 housing developers in 15 different constellations have participated in bidding rounds, before OBOS was awarded the contract.
“Over the next four years, the Diakonhjemmet Garden development project will mean a significant expansion of our operations and services. We are facing major investments, and the sale of the site will enable us to realize the plans we have been working on for over 10 years,” says Chairman Paul Erik Wirgenes.
“The sale contributes to our ability to develop future offerings in our area that the city’s residents desperately need. Diakonhjemmet has always been committed to managing our assets to meet people’s and society’s needs,” Wirgenes points out.
