The Port of Gothenburg and Castellum are jointly developing a fully leased logistics facility at Halvorsäng, with construction starting this fall.

The Port of Gothenburg and Castellum plan to create a new logistics park with high sustainability ambitions and good access routes to the largest port in the Nordics and major transportation links to and from Gothenburg.

In total, Castellum and the Port of Gothenburg plan to construct several buildings ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 square meters in a joint venture company. Parts of the buildings can be up to 35 meters tall, enabling high-volume storage in an area-efficient manner. When complete, the total premises will cover around 145,000 square meters.

The first tenant to sign a lease is medical technology company OneMed, planning to move in during 2026. The total investment for the joint venture is SEK 597 million.

“We look forward to welcoming OneMed to Sweden’s premier logistics location and are pleased to have another strong player joining the port cluster, further boosting volumes across our quays,” says Göran Eriksson, CEO of the Gothenburg Port Authority.

Securing future growth for Swedish healthcare

“We’re delighted to have found an excellent location and partner for our new modern and sustainable facility. This is a major investment that will create space for our future growth and further enhance our services supporting Swedish healthcare and preparedness,” says Robert Schmidt, CEO of OneMed Sweden.

The new 45,000 square meter facility, built to Miljöbyggnad 4.0 standards, has a total contract value of SEK 540 million over a 12-year lease period.

“Being able to offer OneMed a newly-produced logistics facility at Halvorsäng, one of the absolute best locations in the Nordics for logistics and distribution, is something we’re very proud of,” says Örjan Rystedt, CEO of Castellum Region West.
