The SEK 570 million contract includes a modern track configuration and 5.6 kilometers of new tracks, installation of 15 new switches and new safety systems for the station.
Skanska will also construct two accessible platforms and a new station building.
The modernization will contribute to increased reliability and safety for the railway, partly thanks to upgraded safety systems and infrastructure improvements – such as a new passage designed for future integration of high-speed trains.
Construction will begin in August 2024 and is expected to be completed in December 2025.
