This will be the first block constructed with a wooden framework at Nobelberget, marking the official launch of the pioneering Stockholm Wood City project. The three buildings comprising 8,800 square meters will showcase wood’s potential as a climate-friendly urban building material.
“We are extremely proud to be part of this groundbreaking project. Stockholm Wood City represents a new era of sustainable construction and a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate our expertise and commitment to sustainable building projects,” said Johan Edlund, CEO of TL Bygg.
For Atrium Ljungberg, a developer targeting carbon neutrality by 2030, the timber-framed buildings represent a major advance in reducing the climate impact of urban development.
“With such ambitious sustainability goals, marginal improvements are not enough – you have to take big steps. Stockholm Wood City marks a new era of sustainable architecture and urban development, and it feels great to have TL Bygg on this journey with us,” said Angela Berg, Atrium Ljungberg’s Head of Project Development.
Residents are scheduled to begin moving into the Kvarter 7 apartments at Stockholm Wood City in late 2025 as the district shapes up to become an innovative showcase for sustainable wooden construction methods in the Swedish capital.
