Despite a 2023 review that found 25 percent of time stamps invalid, billing discrepancies continue to plague Kiruna’s swimming facility project, which has now exceeded €105 million in costs.
The bill for Kiruna’s new swimming facility has ballooned significantly over time, now exceeding €105 million. In 2023, Kiruna municipality discovered that several subcontractors had invoiced for more hours than they were actually present on site during construction.
A review commissioned by the municipality and main contractor Peab found that 25 percent of all time stamps were invalid.
A new audit has now been completed. It shows the problems remain, according to Svt.
Once again, discrepancies appear between invoiced and registered time. Errors with time stamps and violations of working time and rest period regulations are also evident.
However, the municipality has not examined whether overbilling has occurred. Nor have they decided whether the irregularities should be reported.
