Petter Stordalen’s Strawberry is teaming up with AMF Fastigheter to build a new resort hotel that will also become a new landmark in Stockholm. Here’s when it’s set to open.

In summer 2029, Strawberry and AMF Fastigheter will open a new urban resort in Marievik, Stockholm. The hotel will feature 191 rooms and a modern gym. It will also have a rooftop spa of about 850 square meters with a heated outdoor pool and a destination restaurant. In total, the resort will cover around 11,500 square meters.

In summer 2028, the historic Liljeholmsbadet from 1930, which closed in 2016, will reopen. It will open as a ritual-based bathhouse, open to the public and serving as an extension of the hotel experience.

“The contrast in this project is pure genius. On the roof, we’re taking the atmosphere to the max with a Rooftop Spa. And down on the water, we’re bringing the legendary Liljeholmsbadet back to life for sauna rituals, cold plunges, and total recovery,” says Petter Stordalen, owner of Strawberry.

The hotel is being designed by internationally acclaimed architect Manuelle Gautrand and will become a new landmark for Stockholm. The development is a key part of AMF Fastigheter’s transformation of Marievik from an office district into a mixed-use neighborhood.

“Strawberry’s hotel will be an important piece of that transformation and will bring life and energy to the area year-round,” says Thomas Erséus, CEO of AMF Fastigheter.
