BundeBygg has signed a contract with BNE Kongsvinger Hotell AS to build a new hotel next to Kongsvinger Station.

BundeBygg is a Backe company. The hotel is being developed by Bane NOR Eiendom and will be operated by Capitane Hotels AS. It will cover approximately 7,000 square meters (about 75,000 square feet) and include 135 rooms, a restaurant, and conference facilities. BundeBygg will build the hotel under a design-build contract. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the opening planned for summer 2028.

“We want the hotel to have a positive ripple effect on Kongsvinger. We will prioritize using local suppliers and subcontractors wherever it is natural and appropriate,” says Arne Nerstad, CEO of BundeBygg.

The hotel will be built on the lot next to the office building that Backe recently completed. It was completed together with Bane NOR Eiendom. The hotel will be part of the development of Stasjonssiden in Kongsvinger.

“The hotel will be an important addition to the development of Stasjonssiden and will help create more activity and more meeting places in downtown Kongsvinger. The project is also well aligned with our ambition to develop attractive and sustainable transportation hubs,” says Odd Arne Lian, project manager at Bane NOR Eiendom AS.
