The manifesto includes recommendations in eight key areas, such as carbon emissions, circular economy, health, water, finance, resilience, biodiversity, and just transition. The recommendations aim to address issues like energy security and the unemployment crisis in the EU.
Some of the participating European Green Building Councils include the Austrian Sustainable Building Council, Dutch Green Building Council, French GBC – Alliance HQE, German Sustainable Building Council, and UK Green Building Council. Regional partners supporting the initiative include Assa Abloy, BASF, Heidelberg Materials, Knauf Insulation, Ramboll, Saint-Gobain, and Stora Enso.
The recommendations will be discussed with regional policymakers to ensure a sustainable built environment remains a top priority before the elections in June.
