The Swedish contractor is deploying some €75 million into the final phase of its Nowy Rynek office scheme in Poznan, with the six-story, 29,000-square-meter building set to become Poland’s first office asset achieving net-zero carbon emissions during operations.
Skanska is investing approximately €75 million in the fifth and final phase of the Nowy Rynek office complex in Poznan, Poland, with construction works valued at roughly €40 million for what the contractor says will be Poland’s first net-zero operational carbon office building.
The six-story structure will deliver 29,000 square meters of leasable area and is designed to achieve net-zero carbon emissions during operations, a first for the Polish office sector.
The building will be equipped with solar panels and run entirely on renewable energy. It will deploy air-source and ground-source heat pumps, operating independently of the city’s district heating network.
The asset will feature an AI-enhanced building management system and automated window panels. The ground-source system includes a 10-kilometer borehole array.
Construction on the fifth and final phase is scheduled to begin in Q4 this year, with completion targeted for Q4 2027.
