Billion-kronor contracts are raining down on Skanska in the U.S. right now.
The Swedish construction giant ramps up and has now signed yet another one across the Atlantic.
This time, the company will improve rail infrastructure in the northeastern part of the country for a public-sector client.
The contract is worth approximately SEK 1.3 billion, and work is already underway. It will also be a long-haul project, with completion not scheduled until December 2029.
Skanska already holds a number of major rail contracts in the U.S. Earlier this year, the company landed a contract worth SEK 4.3 billion in New Jersey, where it will build new infrastructure as well as a railroad bridge.
In addition, it won the Long Bridge North project in Washington, D.C., worth SEK 6.7 billion, as part of a joint venture with Flatiron Dragados. That project also involves building a new railroad bridge.
