Ferrovial has secured two major water infrastructure contracts in Texas through its construction subsidiary Webber, with combined value of approximately $720 million, as the state continues to address infrastructure demands driven by rapid population growth.

The projects span Austin and Fort Worth, two of Texas’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas. And represent significant investments in expanding water treatment capacity and stormwater management capabilities.

In Austin, Webber is constructing a pump station as part of TxDOT’s I-35 Capital Express Central project. The $426 million facility will feature a 105-foot deep structure housing four concrete volute pumps with combined capacity of 260,000 gallons per minute.

The CAPEX Pump Station is designed to manage flood and stormwater by draining tunnels along the corridor. Construction commenced in July 2024 and is scheduled for completion in late 2028.

The Fort Worth project involves a $295 million expansion of the city’s Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant. Adding 35 million gallons per day of potable water capacity.

Scope includes ozone generation and disinfection systems, flocculation and sedimentation basins, biological media filters, and a membrane filtration building.

The expansion directly addresses increased demand from the city’s population growth. Construction is underway with completion targeted for 2029.

Both projects underscore the ongoing infrastructure investment required across Texas as cities manage unprecedented growth rates and aging water systems face capacity constraints.
