US construction contracts keep rolling in for Skanska. The company has now confirmed that it will build the new Renton High School in Renton, Washington, in a deal worth just over SEK 1 billion.

Skanska has secured two major contracts in the US with a combined value of just over SEK 1.7 billion. Work is underway, and both projects are scheduled for handover in 2029.

The three-story high school will total 32,500 square meters (approximately 350,000 square feet) and accommodate 1,600 students. The campus will house classrooms, learning spaces for career and technical education, art, science, and other electives.

The project also includes new common areas, athletic facilities, a library, and a cafeteria.

Out with the old, in with the new

But it doesn’t stop there. At the same time, the construction giant announced that it has been awarded an additional major contract by an existing client in the western US, a deal worth SEK 730 million.

This project will replace an existing school with a new one, described as a significant investment in the region’s future.

Work has begun on both projects, which are also scheduled for completion in 2029.
