AF Gruppen acquires Claxton for NOK 800m
AF Gruppen is acquiring all shares in British offshore technology company Claxton Engineering Services for around NOK 800 million. The seller is UK-based Acteon Group.
Claxton was founded in 1985 and is a leading international niche provider of technology-driven services within offshore decommissioning.
The company has 400 employees, revenue exceeding NOK 1 billion and an operating margin of around 14 percent. It owns and operates a significant fleet of surface and subsea risers as well as equipment used in offshore wind installation.
Claxton is headquartered in Aberdeen with operations in Great Yarmouth, Stavanger, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and the US.
– By combining AF Gruppen’s broad project and execution capabilities with Claxton’s innovation, equipment portfolio and proprietary technology, we will strengthen and expand our service offering within offshore decommissioning, offshore wind and conventional energy, says Amund Tøftum, CEO of AF Gruppen.
Claxton will be organised as a separate business unit within AF Gruppen’s Offshore division. The transaction is subject to approval from Norwegian competition authorities and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.
