SRV has completed WithSecure's new headquarters in the Wood City wooden quarter in Helsinki's Jätkäsaari district. The building is net zero emissions and has a positive carbon handprint, making it one of the first projects in Finland to comply with the EU taxonomy.
The seven-story, approximately 8,700 square meter office building is mainly constructed of wood. It uses around 600 tons of wood, which binds 250 tons of carbon dioxide. The building has an exceptionally large carbon handprint of 6 kg CO2 equivalent per square meter per year.
WithSecure will move into the new premises by the end of 2024. The building is owned by the German company Union Investment and was designed by Anttinen Oiva Arkkitehdit.
– With the completion of WithSecure’s office, we are nicely concluding the construction work of the Wood City wooden quarter. This is a unique construction project and a flagship for Finnish wood construction that we have been developing for over a decade. The quarter has attracted great international interest, and it has been our great pleasure to build this new, lifecycle-wise city, says Mira Alatalo, Head of SRV’s Office Construction Unit in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.Share
