Lapti Oy will begin construction of the new comprehensive school in Kuru, Ylöjärvi in autumn 2024. The project, implemented as a design-build contract, is valued at around €8.5 million. The new 2,500 sq.m. school building will be completed by late 2025, with teaching starting in early 2026.
The school will provide facilities for 250 students from pre-school to 9th grade. The building will have versatile teaching spaces, a shared lobby, and energy-efficient solutions like solar panels.
“As an experienced school builder, we will create a communal and functional comprehensive school and event/meeting venue for the entire area. Our plans already received the highest quality score in the tendering process. Future users will also be involved in the further design to ensure the facilities and technical solutions best meet the school community’s needs. We will build modern, well-equipped teaching spaces for students and teachers that can be adapted for different teaching situations during the school day,” says Tuomo Turkkinen, Lapti’s Regional Manager for Pirkanmaa.
