This initial phase comprises 440 residential units, the 7,200 sqm indoor Aqua Mundo waterpark, and the striking 7,500 sqm Market Dome with restaurants, shopping, mini-golf and bowling.

There are high expectations for the resort, forecasting 450,000 overnight guests and 25,000 day visitors annually.

The project is a joint venture between local industrial firm Linak Holding, the Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation and Sonderborg Municipality under the Nordals Ferieresort development company.

Pride and Excitement

“The opening of Nordborg Resort culminates a long and successful development process, resulting in a unique holiday paradise right here in Nordborg. We can now offer both Danish and international guests an outstanding vacation experience in the heart of nature with strong local ties,” said an excited Bent Jensen, CEO of Linak.

Per Egebæk Have from the Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation shared the enthusiasm: “We’re incredibly pleased to confirm the official opening date and that everything has progressed according to plan. Above all, we look forward to welcoming Danish and international guests to our new resort, which we are immensely proud of.”

Sustainability Focused

Sustainability was a key focus during construction, with all buildings DGNB Gold-certified.

“Big dreams were had. It’s an ambitious, high-quality project bringing people closer to nature with a keen emphasis on sustainability and local roots. I’m delighted to see we can attract not just Nordic guests, but tourists from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands seeking to experience the unique nature, gastronomy and culture,” noted board chairman Andreas Andersen.
