Nine out of ten of Denmark’s largest planned construction projects in 2026 have billion-kroner budgets. A few projects will therefore have major influence on the entire market.
Byggefakta Smart releases new figures for 2026. Energy, digital infrastructure and climate adaptation drive development. Projects range from district heating rollout and data centres to infrastructure facilities and modernisation of iconic buildings.
The projects require specialised expertise and stretch over long time horizons. Several are being carried out in phases with separate tender processes.
“2026 isn’t just about volume, but about the direction construction is moving,” says Rasmus Schulian, senior analyst at Hubexo.
The picture can change quickly. Financing, authority approvals and political decisions shift both schedules and project scope.
“The market moves fast, and the realisation rate of individual projects can quickly change the picture,” says Schulian. “For construction players, insight and overview aren’t just nice to have. They’re a prerequisite for navigating proactively in a dynamic project market.”
