OMRON is acquiring OnLogic to help its customers with data- and AI-intensive applications.
OMRON Corporation specialises in industrial automation and control technology, with expertise spanning machine safety, sensing, control, motion control and robotics. OnLogic manufactures rugged, configurable industrial computers and operates a flexible build-to-order model.
Together, the companies see opportunities to bring machine data, edge computing and AI closer to real-time automation and control.
“The acquisition is an important step towards realising our SF2030 vision and advancing towards GEMBA DX. North America is a key market for OMRON’s growth. This investment strengthens our position there while building the capabilities our customers will increasingly need,” said Junta Tsujinaga, President and CEO of OMRON Corporation.
“OnLogic’s industrial computing expertise, flexibility and strong customer relationships complement our strengths in automation and control. Together, we see an opportunity to create new value for customers as manufacturing becomes increasingly connected, data-driven and intelligent,” he added.
OnLogic will continue as an independent company within the OMRON Group, retaining its brand and its headquarters in Vermont. The current management team, led by CEO Sean Larkin, will remain in place.
“We founded OnLogic to help engineers and innovators solve tough technical challenges by making custom, rugged hardware easy to configure, build and deploy,” said Larkin.
“As part of OMRON, we gain the global scale, strong supply chain and capital resources needed to accelerate our product development, while preserving our culture, our direct sales model and our operations around the world. Together, we are giving customers the tools they need to adopt physical AI with confidence.”
Subject to regulatory approval, the deal is expected to close in January 2027.
