The Opima group is expanding its fleet of specialist companies that provide services to the manufacturing industry.
Opima is acquiring Laserkeskus Oy, taking another step in its expansion across the Nordic region. Until now, the group has owned companies in Norway and Sweden offering services such as component manufacturing, maintenance and automation. As will be the case with its newest acquisition, Laserkeskus, these companies operate independently. But theyare developed through various forms of collaboration.
Laserkeskus is a contract manufacturer specializing in metalworking. Founded in 2003, it is based in Laitila, north of Turku, Finland. The company has around 100 employees and offers customized solutions in a range of steel grades, including welding, laser cutting, machining, and press brake bending.
“For more than twenty years, Laserkeskus has built a strong position in metalworking in Finland. Our strength lies in our technical expertise, our flexibility, and our ability to handle complex projects with high quality. With Opima as our owner, we will be better positioned to grow and continue investing in our business while preserving our local roots and our culture,” says Sami Mäki, CEO of Laserkeskus Oy.
“We are very impressed by the technical breadth and dedication we see at Laserkeskus. The company is well established, holds a strong market position in Finland, and complements Opima’s capabilities exceptionally well. We also see exciting opportunities for collaboration with the other companies in the Opima group,” says Johan Karlsson, CEO of Opima.
