Statens vegvesen has selected three contractors to bid for the E10 Evenes Airport Junction project. The upgrade will address a junction currently considered dangerous, with poor visibility and no cycle or pedestrian provision.

Three contractors have been shortlisted for the E10 Evenes Airport Junction project in Norway. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Statens vegvesen, selected the three from six qualified applicants following a prequalification process that attracted nine interested parties.

The shortlisted contractors are Hæhre Entreprenør, Leonard Nilsen & Sønner and Johs. J Syltern. A contract is expected to be signed before summer.

– We are pleased to have seen such strong market interest and have received good candidates for the prequalification, says sub-project manager Wibeke Knudsen at Statens vegvesen.

The project will upgrade a junction currently considered dangerous, with poor visibility, low capacity and no provision for pedestrians and cyclists. The new solution will consolidate and improve the junction and build a cycle and pedestrian path connecting the airport area with the business district on the other side of the E10.
