Skanska has won the contract to construct Obos’s new landmark for Stockholm, Stadsljus in Norra Djurgårdsstaden. The 110-metre tower will house 364 homes and become one of the tallest residential buildings in the Swedish capital.
The building permit was secured at the end of June last year. Construction will start in January 2027 with residents moving in from the first quarter of 2030.
– It feels very good to have signed a construction contract with Skanska. Stadsljus places very high demands on execution competence and Skanska has long experience of building complex and tall buildings in urban environments, says Sofia Ljungdahl, CEO of Obos Nya Hem.
The City of Stockholm will conduct ground remediation on the site this year before construction begins.
Despite the economic downturn, Obos has continued investing in the Swedish market. The company started production on 635 homes in Sweden during the third quarter of 2025.
