After a welcomed decrease in bankruptcies during 2025, Sweden’s construction sector faced a setback at the start of 2026. Bankruptcy levels in January matched those from the same month last year.
Several major players were also forced to cease operations, including one company with revenues exceeding 511 million kronor and two companies with revenues over 100 million kronor.
The Swedish construction industry recorded 163 bankruptcies during the first month of the year, according to statistics from Creditsafe.
