A consortium of major building materials companies is negotiating to acquire NCC’s industrial operations. The Swedish construction firm’s asphalt and stone division could sell for over 7 billion kronor.
Swedish construction giant NCC may be preparing to sell its industrial operations to a consortium consisting of CRH, Colas and Heidelberg Materials.
The division focuses on production of stone materials, asphalt and asphalt surfacing.
According to Bloomberg, negotiations between the parties are at an advanced stage. If completed, the deal would be valued at just over 7 billion kronor, the publication reports.
NCC Industry accounts for 20 percent of the group’s revenue and 25 percent of operating profit. The division also employs 23 percent of the construction giant’s workforce.
The industrial operations also reported a new record result in the fourth quarter, according to preliminary figures.
