Developer Altus has unveiled plans for a 335-metre Trump Tower on Queensland's Gold Coast. The skyscraper will be Australia's tallest building and include a six-star hotel and 270 apartments.
A 91-storey Trump Tower is set to rise in Surfers Paradise on Queensland’s Gold Coast. And it will be Australia’s tallest building. Local developer Altus is behind the project.
The 335-metre tower will surpass Queensland’s Q1 Tower, currently the country’s tallest structure at around 323 metres. It will also be the first Trump-branded development in Australia.
The project includes a six-star ocean-view hotel, 270 apartments priced at A$5 million each, penthouses yet to be priced, and 3,400 square metres of commercial and retail space across five floors.
Altus says the development will create 500 construction jobs and 500 permanent positions once operational. Construction is due to begin this year.
The developer was quick to distance the design from Trump’s signature aesthetic. Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast will not be “gaudy gold-plated,” Altus said, but will follow a modern design framework already used on projects under construction in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
