Lyten has finalized its purchase of the Northvolt Dwa facility in Gdansk, Poland, securing control of Europe’s largest battery energy storage system manufacturing plant, with production set to resume immediately and sales expected to restart before the end of the year.
American battery technology company Lyten has completed the acquisition of Northvolt Dwa in Gdansk, Poland. The facility is Europe’s largest manufacturer of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Production and product development will resume immediately, with the goal of restarting sales before year-end.
“The Northvolt Dwa facility in Gdansk is a world-class asset serving the rapidly growing and strategically important BESS market. As electricity demand continues to rise globally to support AI and economic development, distributed energy storage will become increasingly critical,” said Dan Cook, CEO and co-founder of Lyten.
“We’re seeing demand from around the world and are resuming production immediately to begin delivering orders before year-end.”
The acquisition of the remaining Northvolt assets in Sweden and Germany is expected to close during the fourth quarter of this year.
