Federal immigration officers arrested two individuals near Meta’s data center construction site in rural Louisiana on Wednesday.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested two workers driving dump trucks headed to the site in Richland Parish, The Wall Street Journal reports.

ICE agents arrived in unmarked vehicles at the Holly Ridge site. However, agents didn’t enter the Meta construction site, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

ICE responded to a request from local law enforcement about undocumented workers. The sheriff’s office assisted with traffic stops.

The Trump administration has launched a mass deportation effort targeting construction sites and manufacturing plants. The campaign has included raids on facilities nationwide, including a Hyundai electric-vehicle battery plant in Georgia.

The enforcement operations have sparked concerns for those building data centers to power AI development.

US tech companies have pledged to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI infrastructure in coming years.
